Papercut lanterns kit from Cosy Craft Club

If you've ever wanted to try papercutting, this is a lovely place to start. Created by Cosy Craft Club using LucyDorothy Festive templates, this kit guides you through making three papercut lanterns — a wooden bunny scene, a deer and tree scene, and a house scene — each one lit beautifully from within.

What is papercutting?

Papercutting is the art of cutting shapes and designs from a single sheet of paper to create intricate, striking designs. With the right templates and a little patience, it's far more accessible than it looks.

What you'll make

Using a craft knife and the included pre-printed templates, you'll cut each design, mount it onto translucent parchment paper and curl it into a lantern shape. Lit from the inside with a tea light, they cast a gorgeous glow. Battery-operated tea lights are recommended and available as an optional extra.

LucyDorothy’s beautiful designs have been chosen for this kit as they are simple to cut but look much more impressive! Take each cutting stroke slowly, following the lines of the template. This is a mindful craft, one to get lost in as you cut away areas of paper to reveal the design.

Finished size:

Each lantern measures approximately 20cm tall by 10cm across. The kit arrives in a slim box measuring approximately 20 × 30 × 2cm.
