Solar Printing (Cyanotype) kit from Love To Print

Create stunning blue silhouettes with this solar printing kit! So simple to do, and really fun too. Cyanotype is a type of printmaking, which uses chemicals on paper that turn blue in the sun. If you place objects on the paper, the shadows don't turn blue, leaving you with beautiful shapes and patterns. Use natural objects such as flowers and leaves, found objects from within your home, or even cut shapes from paper or card to make striking prints.

Paint your paper with your prepared chemicals, place your chosen object on top, and let the chemicals develop in the sun - they turn blue where the sun hits it but stays white where your object is to create a silhouette of your object. This kit includes 15 sheets of paper, but there are enough chemicals to make many more prints. Why not experiment with printing on fabric as well as paper?!

This kit includes: chemicals, 15 A5 sheets of 220gsm heavyweight cartridge paper, A5 Printing frame & clips, measuring cup, gloves, mixing pot, 2" sponge brush, black bag to store coated paper, and a detailed instruction sheet. There is also included a sheet of lace fabric and some leaf skeletons to get you started!
